bit about me & photography:

I am a photographer & printer based in Minneapolis that uses traditional photographic processes to attain my images, i.e. film, darkroom/wet-room printed on silver gelatin paper.

Analogue photography is my medium of choice. I have been using this form of photography since I was in high school in the 1970’s. I drifted in and out of photography until late 2006 when I decided to take photography more seriously.

My interest during those early years shifted towards playing and absorbing as much music as possible. I played in various folk rock style projects and collaborations. I have a great passion for both music and photography and try to express my creativity the best way I can with either craft.

To capture my images, I shoot multiple formats such as sub-mini (8mm – 16mm), 35mm, medium format, pinhole and large format (4 x 5 & 8 x 10). I use lenses and other equipment made in the 1800’s up to the 1990’s. I print these images using standard developers & Lith developers with silver gelatin papers. In some instances, the prints are toned to achieve the desired effect.

Please feel free to contact me if any of these photos interest you. Keep in mind that these are only scans of prints. The actual prints are far more vibrant and detailed.

Thanks!

Steve
